... in my own personal opinion I think Hills is cr at p food. If you can- get a food with human grade ingredients. Use green beans as a filler if your basset needs to shed some weight. If you want to go with easy to get grocery store type kibble- I think it is Purina One that is decent for its price. Every puppy we have ever had grew up on Puppy Chow- though its been many years since there was a puppy here...

This site lists the ingredients for some kibbles. I have no idea about it's accuracy- there are links there for other sites as well as some recommended reading.

We currently use Merricks senior formula- not because I feel it the best choice kibble- but because for the tummy it feeds it works the best.
