This is Bo of Hawaii, Commander in Chief of the Pacific Basset Feet

Let me say that I am awed (but not shocked) by the overwhelming response to my
call for recruits. There are now 33 more recruits on top of our original
42--that makes 75 canines and counting; 300 feet strong. Semper fido. Some are
even reporting for duty from the Bridge. Thank you, St. Brendan's Brigade.

Before listing our most recent recruits, let me take care of a few orders of
business. First, it is becoming clear to me that there needs to be a separate
task force to address the terrorist squirrel-stan problem. Some recruits are
reporting in with specific expertise and requests for this assignment. As our
feet is based in the Pacific Ocean, I wish to delegate the organization of this
stan-squad to its original founders who are based on land. I delegate this
organization to the Pacific Fleet Mountain Division, whose task it is to root
out the originators of the squirrelstan thread and coordinate the new task force
with them.

Secondly, we have received a request for an award of the Basset Congressional
Medal of Honor (do we have a basset congress yet? Don't let my brother anywhere
near any puppy pages...) for the Late Great Mr. Cooper the Basseter for
eradicating multiple terrorist stans and their rodent cousins. I support this
award and refer the recommendation to the Stan-squad for further action.

Thirdly, I want to commend all of you for your dedication to the protection and
furtherance of bassetdom. I am very proud. My brother and I come from a long
line of Nay-vy families--we were born in naval housing near Pearl Harbor and
lived with ten different naval families between us in military housing before
settling in our forever home (with civilians, as it turns out). You can take
hounds out of the nay-vy, but not the nay-vy out of hounds. One of our brothers,
Koa, found a forever home with a navy physician and has moved across
deployments. Are you out there, Koa?

Finally, I wish to re-iterate that we are an all-inclusive, friendly force
(aside from opposing terrorists like the squirrelstans). We would like to
acknowledge the recent post by another Commander-in-chief--CIC Roland, Duke of
Ears, OEBE, and urge all to support the Oregon Basset Waddle on July 17. Yours
in action, Bo of Hawaii, Commander-in-chief of the Pacific Basset Feet
