I made thethis recipe to put some weight on the Tucker Man and Juliette. They needed to put on a little weight for a few shows we were going to attend. I made quarter pound meatballs and fed 1/2 of a meatball to each of them mixed in with their regular meal. Juliette gained weight quickly and was a bit on the pudgey side by the time we went to the first show. Tucker also gained weight but he went into a growth spurt and he began to limp w/pano. They were fed these for about two weeks. I made 1/2 of this recipe. I have not fed satin balls since.

Here's the recipe:

10 lbs. cheapest hamburger
  (70% lean or less)
1 box Total cereal- (I used generic store brand)
1 box (large box) uncooked oatmeal (also used store brand)
15 oz. jar of wheat germ
10 raw eggs; include shells ground up in small pieces
10 pkgs Knox unflavored gelatin
1 1/4 c. vegetable oil
1 1/4 c. unflavored molasses
1 pinch salt

Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl. ( Very large bowl. I used a dishpan)
Place in freezer bags, 1 lb. per bag OR roll into bite-size balls and put in freezer bags and freeze then. Use as needed to put weight on a dog. PUTS WEIGHT ON F_A_S_T! Beware of overfeeding it as this is very rich. Feed RAW.
