You know.. I learned a while back (once I started getting checks every three
months for monitoring blood stuffs) that the number one reason why a needle
stick stings, is because they haven't left the alcohol dry or haven't wiped
it dry enough BEFORE going in with the needle.

And thinking on young Charlie's reaction .. I'm betting they did like they
do mine.. doused the area with alcohol, and try to go in too quickly thus
taking alcohol in with it and stinging the begeebers out of him.. :(

I didn't want to say anything to the vet, someone who routinely  
sticks very sharp things into animals, but that wasn't a temper  
tantrum. That was a frightened basset trying to get away from  
something he knew was going to hurt.
