Hi all - after saying everyone was well, Ernest is having a real problem tonight. He seemed fine, but picked at his dinner and kept pacing around. I finally took the bowl up after he'd eaten about half. Then he was panting a pacing with his back arched. I sat with him to try and calm him and he is shivering. He is wagging his tail constantly and just keeps pacing. The only vet that I could get a hold of is out of town for the evening but will be back later if I really need her. I gave a Gas-X just in case, his belly is tight, like guarding, but not distended. He cries when I try to press. The vet thinks it could be back pain and had me give him some Rimadyl. We are also doing PeptoBismol in case it's GI. I'm not convinced it is his back with the tail wagging and he did a full body shake. I have him in a crate to rest for now and will keep watch. He could really use some drool that this is nothing serious, and if it is, that I can find a vet to see him!

Thanks,
Synthia, Ernest (I don't feel so good) and all the rest
