It has been my experience that red and whites fade on their bodies more
than tri's.  However I have seen red and whites of very advanced age
with not a grey hair on them.  Seems to vary from dog to dog.  I
am inclined to believe the tendency to grey is genetic.  When we
brought our Piggy Paws home she was only 5 years old and almost solid grey
from nose to above her eyebrows.  I had to do a bit of deceptive
artwork to tone down the grey a bit to show and finish her.  Now her
son Dice who is only 3 is quite grey in the face also.  However hi is
brother Oliver has no more than a grey hair or two on the end of his
snout.

I think with the tendency towards grey hair in hoomans
has nearly vanished, thanks to better living through chemistry, we forget
mammals grey as they age.
