[Dailydrool] Help- Smelly Mouth

Copper, my 13-year old basset, has a foul odor coming from his mouth for the
last three days or so.  I can't see any infection (obvious anyway) inside
his mouth, but right along the edge of his jowls it's red and raw.  It
smells like rotting flesh and I can't get a Vet appt until next week.  Any
ideas?  Anyone ever heard of anything like this?
