Susan, I understand your concern on rimadyl. It all --to me--- depends on what the issue is. Pw Elder Clara that is teetering on sweet 16, has had all the old age issues and been down in the rear is on SOD Boswellia and we have had great luck with it. There are no alarming side effects and works well with other meds--check this to your particular case--and the price is wonderful.
I get mine from www.calvetsupply.com and with shipping it is about 31.00  for 500 of them.
