i just finished reading a very good book.........it is called You Had me 
at Woof: How Dogs Taught me the Secrets of Happiness by Julie 
Klam......not necessarily about bassets, but they are mentioned, but a 
laugh out loud must read for anyone who loves dogs and volunteers in 
rescue........nancy, hershey and einstein and the big foster  baby 
McDonald who will be going to his forever home on monday
