Subject: Puppies!

On saturday we drove to Pat's house in Toledo Ohio to bring home our new girls. Sandi met us there as well. After crossing all our t's and dotting our i's and of course getting aquainted~ we drove towards home. We did a quick pit stop at Chunky and Olivia's in Berea and got home in the early evening. The girls are an absolute delight! They play just like all puppies do~ and it is such fun! Elvis has adjusted to them much better than even I thought, he is a pretty easy going old man. When he's had enough of their antics, he grrr's and they stop. Peaches ( tri) and Peanut ( red) are 10 months old and are really very well behaved little girls. They have not touched or gotten into anything that they shouldn't. They are very easy going and LOVE everyone. You can tell how well they were socialized before ever leaving Sandi and Pat in the first place. They are crate trained and sleep in their freely- though at night they have the option of sleeping on other beds in my room as well. We shut the door and they are restricted to our room at night. They sleep right through. Peaches prefers her crate- Peanut either snuggles her sister or lays on a bed right next to ours. They also eat PLAIN kibble! Those of you that knew Ms.Brandy know how much this excites me :) They get no people food at all- they appear to not even know it. They have been introduced to baby carrots and love them. There are toys on all the floors, drool and noseprints on the edge of all furniture and every glass door. Fur is everywhere! And we are loving it! In just a couple of days they have brought such joy to us and it already feels as if they've been here forever.
They do not get to go in the basement- that remains Elvis' domain. He likes to 'bury' and 'relocate' all of his rawhide bones ( he never eats them). The girls do not get such things and Elvis would not like it if they were to touch his bones. So he has his own safe space for them.
We have not had to block the stairs to the upper level. Peanut has not interest in them, and Peaches is learning that she can't go there. The most she's done is put her paws on the first step when someone is coming down.
We not only lucked out in being able to adopt these girls- we hit the jackpot! We are very grateful to Sandi and Pat for entrusting us with their sweet babies. There are just a couple of pics on photobucket. I still have 28.8 k dial-up and had trouble uploading more. I will get some more up maybe on wed. when I stop at my mom's house.
