Oh Essie, I am so sorry.  I lost my cats Dugan and Jasper to kidney failure
and know how painful it is to live both through kidney disease and then
losing them.  I tried to give them both subcutaneous fluids to help them and
wound up getting more fluid injected in me than I ever did either of them.
The hounds are sending gentle sad kisses and I'm sending warm thoughts.  I
