Muldoon here.  Bazzle you need to get Momma more slave training.  She is like all peeps, very slow and has a learning disability.   You can overcome her lack of Bassetude, but it takes practice.  You must reinforce Basset Rule 1:  It is mine.  She left that nummie for you and it is yours, not herz.  Basset Rule 2:  It is still yours.  You need to continue to work with Momma and the other peeps.  Use the Look.  Moan and droop your tail.  Gag a lot.  Go eat grass.  It is all a part of training.  Mommas are well known for their lack of ability to learn.  They cannot smell either, but you already know that.   Muldoon out.
