OUR MT. MOMENT: Feb 15th, 2011....an urgent (and surprising) 4 level
neck fusion was needed or my other option was bed rest for the rest of
my life plus physical therapy. Well that was a no brain-er for me.
Wearing this neck brace with the bone growth stimulator has been a
challenge. Basset legs and paws can easily rip apart the wires that
hang down from my neck to the battery pak......so I live daily with
caution caring for all the critters on the ranch.

Although our admits into the shelter are on hold till after summer, I am
happy to say thru emails and the phone we were able to assist in 4 new
adoption lately. A nice slide show of Lacey, Rocky, Lucky, Buggers,
(and soon one of Sophie) can be viewed on our "Forever HOmes" section of
our website.

Your cards, emails, and phone calls ALL kept my spirits up and I want to
thank ALL of you!!
Dozens upon dozens of get well cards from the GREAT STATES.....of:

Florida, New Jersey,Penn.,New Mexico,Nevada,Wisconsin,Ky,
N.D.,Colorado,Washington, Ohio, Mt., Ok. Md, Tx, and also from around
the world in:

France, Calgary (Canada) and Stillwater Lake, NS. ALL OF YOUR HEART
FELT WORDS REALLY HELPED AS I LONGED FOR WINTER TO END AND SEE SOME
SUNSHINE.
I got "cabin fever" for the very first time.

It did not help any when I suffered the loss of my Colbee Ames last
month. Being so braced up I could not even put my head down enough to
kiss his precious muzzle as he drifted to the bridge. But I held him so
close in my arms on my lap as the Vet helped me to sit on the floor to
be with him. That was my hardest hour.
,
SO TO ALL OF YOU I THANKYOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.
