Our Belvedere experienced incontinence as he aged. We went through all kinds of testing, with no results. Finally our vet came to the conclusion that the very bad arthritis that Bel came to us with at age five had affected his spine and the nerves to the bladder. There wasn't anything we could do about it, and we just put on a bellyband.
 
Until that time, I never knew such a thing could happen. He'd always had peeing issues that I assumed were related to separation anxiety. Afterwards I wondered just how much was separation anxiety and how much was the arthritis.
