Hi Everyone

I haven't been around the a lot because now that I'm back from Rio and my leg is well, I have worked almost every day even though I'm a part-time employee.
Well, Xaxa has been treated for his cough that is really a heart problem. Since we went to the specialist she gave heart meds and diuretics and after that he got well and strong again ( he never really lost his strenght)
Yesterday the cough came back even with the meds and even with a higher dose of diurectics he continued to cough. He does not want to eat much that for Xaxa is a sign he is not well because he is a super-good eater).
Because he is 14 and a half years old we get scared at anything that happens because it seems that he is getting closer and closer to the day to go to the bridge. The doc says she never saw a basset this old and this strong. In July he will be 15!
We expect him(the doc also), because of his strengh, to stay around at least through summer but we cannot force him to stay when the the time comes. Winter is hard on him now. We just love him so much that the idea of life without him seems so painful.
Anyways, whoever can spare a little (or a lot) of drool or a prayer to Xaxa, please do.We need this old sweet gentleman around a little bit longer. (Are we selfish humans, I wonder...)
We send drool to whoever is needing and I'm sorry I haven't been around to share the problems and the joy that comes from the wonderful life with those loving babies.
Drool and love to all,
We love you guys.
Virginia, Xaxa (cough, cough) , Violeta and the daddy that couldn't be a more loving and caring one.
