[Dailydrool] Young Charlie and the Dremel

I've just finished reducing the length of young Charlie's toenails
almost exclusively with a Dremel. I snipped off the tips first but
did the rest of the job with the Dremel. He was a bit twitchy and
danced around at first, but by the time I was on my third pass, he
settled down as if he were an old pro at it. I'm so very proud of
him! It's taken a good year of letting him watch me do our Elsinore's
nails with the Dremel and then going through the rest of the
desensitization process, but today he got through a full nail trim
for the first time--and without anyone having to hold or distract
him. It's taken forever to get him to this point, but nail trimming
is going to be so much easier on both of us now that he's decided the
cheese treats throughout the process are worth it. I told him I was
going to tell everyone on the Drool about his accomplishment because
who else understands what a milestone he's reached? And now we're all
going to go out for a walk to celebrate. Good, good boy, Charlie!
