[Dailydrool] Drool Rules

I have a totally serious question and suggestion here, before this topic
dies.

First - there have been a few times when someone has posted something,
usually a newer member asking a question, and after reading it I have
cringed, because I knew the poster was going to get some very hateful
emails. A few times I've actually emailed the poster and warned them to
expect nastiness. And several have replied and said they had already
started receiving very ugly emails. Most of these people have unsubscribed
from the list because of this, which I think is a shame. So here is my
question and suggestion.

Why do we not have a ZERO TOLERANCE policy for flaming? I personally do not
see any value whatsoever in anyone EVER, EVER, EVER flaming another list
member or a Moderator (especially a Moderator, it's already a hard job).
Discussion is fine, even a little bit of a heated discussion. Flames are
not discussions, they are nastiness for the sake of being nasty. So how
about we come up with a good general definition of what we consider to be
flaming and then add a rule that says -- discussion is allowed, flaming is
not. Here is how we define flaming - and if you flame anyone on this list
(including Moderators) you are gone.

My two cents. I do not like hatefulness. Or spam from Sheila Self or
whatever her name is.
