We were saddened to read of so many furbabies passing to the bridge. I am remiss in sending notes. Blue comes to mind~ hearthealing drool coming to his people and of course all others who have recently lost a baby.
As you know Ms.Brandy's daughter, Chilliepepper went to the bridge last week as well. She is greatly missed. I would never have believed that Elvis would the last one standing ( well errr...sitting I guess as he can't use his backlegs) out of that trio. By chance he is one day younger than Chillie.
The following may not be "easy" for some to read. Nothing horrid- just what happens when your baby is sent to the bridge:
For anyone who has never 'stayed' when a furkid gets sent to the bridge. It is a very gentle way to let them go. Many folks I have talked with have told me they have never stayed because they didn't know what to expect. Morbid story line I realize- but honestly it is very gentle! They take your baby and put an IV line in. Then they bring them back in the room with you. A sedative is given through the IV and then the final meds. Your baby just falls asleep. I have been there for both ways- and let me tell you mother nature is sometimes not as gentle.
OK- now on to happier topics.
Peanut and Peaches celebrated their first birthday yesterday! New blankies and toys and bandanas arrived from furends and loving aunties. They also received new collars and more toys. They had decorated dawgbones from the store ( topped with a dab of cream cheese to hold the carrot "candle") as their cake. Elvis got one too! We don't give them people food other than carrots, potatoes and bananas. Of course they get plenty of dawgbones too. I did post some pics and a video on facebook if you are a member.
It feels as though they have been here forever. All of us have fallen in love with them- including Elvis. I think it has given him a new ( or another??) lease on life having them here. He is a "pack dawg" and is truly happy having them here to snuggle and play with. When he has had enough he tells them and they listen. He has been doing well. An infection of the eyes had him sick for a few days- but he always bounces right back. LOVE that extended warranty he appears to have.
droolies, Angelika with Elvis, Peanut and Peaches. ( I'm not sure but I think that is the first time in a long time that I signed off with 'droolies'... tonight it just feels right again)
