Well, we had the ultrasound done on Bubba today and it's a bit confusing.
They found a mass inside his pancreas. It's either a cyst (we're hoping!!)
or a tumor. The clinic that did the ultrasound said they didn't want to
biopsy it because if it was filled with blood it could bleed all over and
that could cause problems of its own. I didn't go so had to rely on what my
DH told me when he got back. My vet said that they will not do surgery on it
if it is, in fact, a tumor. I will have to go to Michigan State for that.
That means waiting for summer since he doesn't work in the winter. I just
hope Bubba can wait that long. We were given 3 sets of pills; deramaxx for
pain, amoxicillin for the "cyst," and metoclopramide (not sure what that's
for). I was reluctant to give him the deramaxx, but my DH said the vet told
him, if Bubba's in pain, then that could be all it takes to get him off his
food. If anyone can tell me what happens with either scenario, cyst or
tumor, I would appreciate it. Please think about us and I will keep everyone
posted about him and his progress.
