Yes, Nancy there is a specific product you need to buy. There are two grades food grade and pool grade. You want the food grade.
I have used DE for years and years with much success. I haven't had fleas or fire ants in forever and have very few other destructive pests. The only problem with DE is that it will also kill of the beneficial guys.
