[Dailydrool] Waaay Behind

I am way behind on the Drool. We picked up Nigel, Conley and Llewis from
Jail yesterday night. How much energy do you think 3 Basset Boyz can store
up in 3 weeks in a kennel? They have all lost weight,especially Llewis. They
are all looking otherwise good. They are very very very very very excited to
be here and the new digs just seem to stimulate them. They are into every
corner of the yard and house constantly. CONSTANTLY moving. Cooper has taken
refuge in a crate. I should have figured out a way to put 4 in here but even
3 is really pushing. And it's a huge room.
The insurance company provided all the furniture, down to forks and knives,
pots, pans, hot pads, a runner on the Dining table and they made the beds!
The beautiful ligh tan duvet they put on my bed now has black belly-skid
marks on it, because the back yard is flooded and there is simply no way to
stop a Basset stampede into the house (no hallway, no mud room) after they
have prowled through the muck.
Conley thinks he can get under the gate. Maybe he can. He is certainly
thinking about it. Having managed at the kennel to duck under a temporary
fence taught him this is a possibility (it does not exist at the House.).
I am hoping by the end of today they will have started to settle down.
HAhahahhahahhahahahahhah. Who am I kidding?
It would be nice to let them out and feel comfortable staying in, but not
yet. It is going to take awhile before I trust the fence. (And the dogs.)
Anyway thank everyone for their very kind thoughts and encouragement. We
should be back home in....ohhhhhhhhhh...before Christmas.

MomPerson, glad to have her boyz: Nigel, Llewis, Conley & Cooper, back
together.
