[Dailydrool] Rosie's Vet Visit continues...

I took Rosie to the Vet as I explained in an earlier post and yesterday I got the a phone call from the vet to say her blood work came back as did her Urine culture.  She has a "Massive" Bladder infection and he wants to have them run a second culture on the urine sample they have - seemed strange but he says they need to culture the urine to identify the exact bacteria they are dealing with.  Meantime he prescribed "Zeniquin" as a strong "broad spectrum antibiotic" and says that if that is not strong enough for the bacteria that the culture will show, he may need to prescribe another.  He also is asking for more blood work as her Thyroid hormone is low suggesting a sluggish Thyroid.  So now she's on B-Complex, Rimadyl, Joint Complex, and the antibiotic. The Vet and his family will be taking a nice vacation with the fees from this visit!

I'm giving her a back/leg massage twice a day (she's loves it and sleeps quite awhile afterwards), she needs to lose at least 10 pounds (currently at 74), so we are trying to walk her (that should be I am walking her) at least 3 times a day.  It's really hot here in South Florida now and the gnats are unrelenting (I'm walking her with a drier sheet tucked in her harness and it keeps some of them away).

She also has a yeast infection in her right ear and that makes for twice a day cleaning; and for that we're using "Posatex" once a day.  Then for the rash on her abdomen we're using "Yeast-be-Gone Wipes" oh yes and, baby wipes on the private parts after each potty break.

A lot of work for Mom here and I gladly do it but I'm tired and Rosie is wondering just what is all of this about, she see's me coming at her now and gives me THAT look of bewilderment and of course after her ear treatment she walks to her treat cabinet and sits until she gets a goody.  Of course; since she's on a diet (home cooked Veggie stew with very little chicken), her treats are VERY limited.

So guys, wish us well and some healing drool never hurts, nor would some undistributed sleep!

Wishing all the furbabies and their owners peace, love and happiness...
