[Dailydrool] Honking basset

Has anyone had a basset who makes a very loud honking sound when they 
exhale during panting? My Zoe started making this sound  a few months 
ago when she pants. Her normal breathing is perfectly fine. Zoe is 12 
and otherwise healthy.

I've taken her to the vet and her heart and lungs are fine. The vet 
initially thought it was Laryngeal Paralysis, but that condition 
normally affects air intake, not exhaling. Her x-rays and showed a 
slight inflammation of the bronchial tubes, so we went home with 
steroids and antibiotics. Those didn't help so I am taking her back 
tomorrow for a tracheal wash.

Just wondering if anyone has seen this in their hounds and how it was 
treated.
