[Dailydrool] Dogs and cats

I never ever thought I would live with a cat, much less two of them.  I am allergic to the dander, fur and swell up if I get scratched.  Then the son decided he wanted a cat.  The first one died within three weeks.  Then a friend was fostering two brothers and when Josh saw them, they had a new home.  Picasso and Davinci probably weighed a pound together when they first started coming here.  They would spend every moment under the couch.  Then one day Ninja got a little too nosey and her nosey got a great big scratch.  I don't know which cat did it but we have had no trouble since then.  The cats like to tease and walk really close to the dogs but the girls leave them alone.  I think Maggie would play with them and sleep with them if the brothers weren't quite so skittish.  Ninja and Picasso were sleeping nose to nose on the back of the loveseat yesterday.  They have made their peace.  The animals sorted themselves out.  
 
Sherlock was our CAT HATER.  I don't know if he would have ever tolerated a cat.  Once on a walk, he found some kittens in a bush and grabbed one to eat it.  Mamma cat was in the bush and came out spitting.  He was on a leash so we got the kitten and put it back.  He was not happy.  He wanted a cat snack.  
 
I never though I would say that I love a cat but I do love the boys.  Josh, the son, is not getting them back.  They love it here.  There are stairs to climb, all sorts of places to hide and run and these really big rodent like things called bassets to torment.  I take two allergy pills, have two inhalers and one other medicine related to breathing and we all get along fine.  I'm not sure if the breathing problems were the result of the cats or not but I don't care.  I love my girls and my boys.
