[Dailydrool] Godspeed Elder Clara

Work has been crazy so I hadn't read the Drool in several days.  To say I was shocked to hear the news of Elder Clara's passing from bloat is a gross understatement.  I sit here with tears running down my cheeks, sobbing over the loss of a senior hound I never met but feel like I knew through her antics posted here, her tireless fundraising activities for senior hounds and her monthly column for the Senior Houndsabound Newsletter.   Perhaps this hit me so hard because we, too, have a senior hound and though not yet close to 16, I know our Dozer won't always be here to greet me in the morning by rubbing his head on my legs while moaning and groaning his "good morning, I missed you!" greeting or rolling over for one of his dozens of belly rubs of the day.  Senior hounds are amazing and incredibly special; they bring SO much to our lives and ask so very little in return - just love.   Please know that we send copious amounts of heart healing drool to you, your hubby and the rest of the Beach Bassets as you recover from the loss of your special ol' gal.  Can you feel our hugs?
