We have been in our new home for just over 3 months now, and finally I think
Morse is beginning to enjoy himself. I never realised how stressful he would
find moving house as I (wrongly) believed that if he had us with him at all
times he would cope just fine. Thank you so much to all who mailed with
suggestions on how to help him settle. Routine I think has been one of the best
suggestions, plus now he is getting to know all the familiar smells and
different routes, and getting to know different dogs - and he seems happy. He
is happy in the house, happy in the garden, and I am so happy to see it. One
thing he has really taken to is the quayside - and the mud. Kids visit the
quayside especially on weekends to go crabbing and they use bacon as bait....you
can see where this is going......he is an absolute menace with their packs of
bacon and becomes obsessed with being at the quayside at every opportunity. He
wades through the mud trying to get to pieces that have fallen over into the
water, are hanging off the ivy - last week he pulled a stray piece down, and you
know when bacon is uncooked its really sticky almost? It came down from the ivy
and slapped him straight over the eye. He then spent the next 10 seconds
flinging his head about as he couldn't see.
Here are some pics of him with his new passion - mud- and in the village.

We have been so sad to see so many losses recently, but on a brighter note we
are loving Elder Clara's repawts from the Bridge! Thank you to all who gave
suggestions about Morse's early waking. We have found a biscuit before bed has
solved the problem and now he sleeps til around 7am.
Drool to all in need.
