[Dailydrool] Dottie in the dog food

Years and years ago my sister and b-in-l had a cat named Pooh, who got
crystals in his urinary tract very regularly, as neutered male cats
sometimes do.  Science Diet came out with the first food for this but it was
canned and Pooh had to eat it but did not like it.  Then a year or two later
Science Diet comes out with the first dry food for this problem, they
changed Pooh to it and he loved it.  Well one day they bought a new 8 pound
bag and sat it on the washer in the utility room, then left to go somewhere.
They came home about 4 hours later and found Pooh on the floor in the middle
of the dry food, he had knocked it off the washer and the bag burst open and
he ate almost half of an 8 pound bag of food.  His belly was so swollen that
it looked like he was going to go into labor at any second, and he was
barely able to breathe.  Long story short, vet said just watch him, so he
laid on the floor of the utility room for two days, then got up and waddled
to his box and did his business.  No side effects from his food-induced coma
other than my sister never again left a bag of food out.  So my guess is
your Dottie will be fine, just let her lay there and it will slowly start to
digest.  Right now there's not enough room in her stomach for it to be able
to twist (bloat)!!
