[Dailydrool] Charlie the Awesome Tripod

Charlie, now just 1 week post-amputation, has attempted the stairs (backing/sliding down only because I was coming downstairs) and has succeeded in getting on the couch all by himself!  My tripod Jeremiah was only 18 mos old when he lost his leg--not 10-12 like Charlie--and it took him 6 weeks to master that.

We had raised just about $700 in our Floyd's Fund for Seniors in Need--and Charlie's bill (shots, amputation, HW test, bloodwork, exam, sedation and antibiotic shot, antibiotic pills, painkillers and x-rays[free dental work and extraction]) came to $625.  In order to save any more seniors in great need, we will have to replenish the Fund so stay tuned for great things up on Hounds Bay and come join us for our Post-Derby Dawdle/Waddle on May 28, 2011, on Bardstown Road in Louisville (picnic to follow.)  We're nowhere near the size or speed of the original Waddle you all are attending but we have a good time and everybody who sees us loves to stop and pet the bassets :) And we need to raise money in order to save bassets in Kentucky!
