Vintage 2009: "New Buppy to Waddle in Phred's Pawprintz"

Dear Droolers, After losing my beloved Basset Phred two and a half years 
ago, I am finally going to be owned again. This week I will bring to his 
forever home Vintage Baron Philippe Rothschild, whose call name will be 
"Bentley". He was born September 5th to Ch. Tailgate Cassidy Plunkett and Tailgate 
Claret Vintage Whine and will be the luckiest most spoiled hound on Earth.

I have been borrowing him for a few hours a day and getting him used to his 
new digs. The first time I brought him home the following things happened 
in short succession, I'm sure it's a sign of Phred's approval: First, it was 
raining intermittently...I walked outside and there was a huge rainbow 
stretching from one horizon to the other. Then, I grabbed my raincoat and 
suddenly remembered if I am going to walk a dog I need pickup bags! I looked 
everywhere and found none, but stuck my hand in the coat pocket. There was a bag 
in it from one of Phred's last walks long ago.... Next, we walked in town, or 
tried to--we were stopped every few feet by admiring throngs! What happened 
next was almost eerie. When we got to Phred's favorite restaurant--the one 
where he famously summoned me by repeatedly turning on the car flashers one 
time--Bentley just stopped, stared into the windows, planted his four big 
paws and refused to move.
Please welcome Bentley to the legion of Droolers. I am looking forward to 
many wonderful years being a food slave once again."
