[Dailydrool] Happy Sunday & Trifexis

Hello and Happy Sunday from ASTT HQ in the beautiful Florida Panhandle.  Colt and Ruger are taking a little nappy at the moment...all tuckered out after making it snow here earlier.  Yes snow...well kinda. I brushed out the boyz and let me tell you the fur was flying.  I think that I brushed enough fur off of them to make another basset. The boyz also have been busy chasing all the squirrels and lizards out of the yard the last few days since the weather has been so nice and today it is awesome!!! 76 and sunny so we opened up the windows to air out the house and the DH cleaned the pine needles out of the gutters & is power washing the patio.  Other than that not much excitment here at HQ, just doing a little spring cleaning.

The brothers are on Trifexis.  It is what our vet recommended for flea, heartworm and other intestinal parasite prevention...it is a pill so Bev I'm not sure how your vet tech was able to wash it off of her dog.  So far I haven't had any problems with it and the boyz have been on it for 4 months now. The only reaction that the vet told me about was to keep an eye on Ruger because of his seizure history but again no issues with it in 4 months. You do have to make sure to give it with food...I give it about 15-30 minutes after the boyz supper and try to keep them quite for the rest of the night just to ensure that we don't have any upset tummies.  Like I said...so far I have been happy with it. But I will be asking my vet about it before getting a new box...just to be on the safe side.  As for the gnats and mosquitos I spray the boyz and myself with Listerine before going outside after dusk...the old fashioned gold colored Listerine.  I read about it here on the drool from another droolers post last summer.  And hey it does work.
