[Dailydrool] Guilt and Sin in the Basset World

Because a dog looks guilty when accused of something doesn't mean he is. He
really does not understand the words: but he knows the accusatory tone and
thinks "Oh crap--what did I do now? I must have done something..." And he
looks guilty. (And he doesn't, in all probability, think that way either--
whatever the dog equivalent is.)
Also I would immediately take the dog for a urine test. Dogs with urinary
infections will often tell you by urinating inappropriately right in front
of you, or in a place where it will be discovered. I (again) do not think
they think this through. It seems to be an ingrained response.
If there is no infection, then is it possible there was something on the
bed that he smelled and marked?
