[Dailydrool] Food--Citrus and gas bombs

It has been my personal experience that when a dog is a gas bomb and we are
contemplating getting gas masks, it is time to make a food change for that
dog. Keep in mind that all my dogs ATB and present except for tiny, little
Princess Browyn have or had severe food allergies. This does NOT mean it
is a food allergy. After all, Doc is still a baby. It does mean his body
can't digest this food well for what ever reason. Does Wellness Core have
peas in it? Some dogs (and humans) just don't handle beans well. If it is
any consolation, Princess Browyn is a gas bomb on her current food. I just
haven't felt like dealing with it at the moment. I know that sounds really
bad, but we are just in overload at our house right now. As soon as we get
me doing better, I will look into it and figure something out.

Citrus. My dogs LOVE citrus. They love grapefruit and they love
clementines. I would be careful of letting them eat too much peel. If
they are on any drugs that would carry a warning in humans about not eating
or drinking grapefruit juice I would back off. Elwood ATB was very
sensitive to fruits high in vitamin C. If he ate too many he got the runs
in the middle of the night. I had to watch him with strawberries because
we grow them and he would sit at my feet while I processed them and whine
for them. I would have to take his food bowl and stick it under his head
to catch all the drool so I wouldn't slip on the floor and fall. I am NOT
exaggerating. It was so gross, but he was SO cute. I know some of the
classes of drugs you have to watch out for are some heart drugs and some
antidepressants. I am not a doctor or a pharmacist. I think I would
consult the vet and a pharmacist.
