[Dailydrool] nibbling...

Ahhh...that brings back memories :) Ms.Brandy 'nibbled' her entire 14 1/2 years. Toys, pillows and the cuffs of my shirts. It did have to be a certain texture. Fuzzy toys wouldn't do- nor sweaters. Sweatshirts and terry type toys were pawfect. I used to pull my cuff over my knuckles to prevent accidental nips into my wrist skin- a bit of a pinch if she got you. She had a green mouse stuffed animal. That was her favorite and was always covered in these dried little 'nibble row marks' until I'd wash it and she could start all over. When she got her adult set of teeth- the two little ones on the bottom in the front never fell out. So she two sets, one in front of the other. Vet said to leave them be until they were an issue. Many years later- from all the nibbling we suspect, the outer set starting leaning forward and the vet said they had to go- along with the other set behind as they would lose their support with the ones in front of them gone. Oh how we fretted, worried she'd not be able to nibble anymore. All for naught- she nibbled just fine after that as well. We used to call her our little Singer ( as in the sewing machine), because her head bump bones would go up and down as she nibbled. The one thing she really really wanted to nibble ( but was never allowed) was our youngest sons feet, when he was still an infant in footsie jammies. Oh how she wanted a go at those tasty nibbly looking toes.
Thanks for the memory~ she's been gone over three years and it is putting a smile on my face to remember this.
droolies, Angelika
ps- the green mouse went with her when she left us. I fretted for years when the time came, should I keep it or should it be buried with her. The dad slave included it with her, her bed and blanket when he laid her to rest.
