augustus mc crae has been here from 8 weeks of age.  he is 12 y. now.  
he is the sturdy agreeable friendly basset that welcomes every rescue 
into "his" home. after noticing for a few weeks now he misses one 
breakfast meal and keeps licking his paws like his joints hurt......i 
started him on glucosime,etc. and this morning just because..........i 
looked in his mouth and saw blood.   so when light came....i went to our 
slider window after medicating him with a rymadyl to look further.   
there it was .......a mass growing in his back mouth behind his molars 
even.  its the size of a small grape maybe and very nobule...just not 
smooth.....i am driving him this morning for blood work and contacting a 
specialist....if this is cancer i will just die.  i just lost my thorbus 
weds. to stomach cancer....now this.  this is almost unbearable for me.
PLEASE LOOK INSIDE YOUR DOGS MOUTHS AND SEE IF ALL LOOKS NORMAL.   
gussie has always had perfect teeth with minimal tartar....just one of 
the lucky guys as his mom Lakota Sue who is now  14 yrs.....  she has 
great teeth ......neither one has ever had to have a dental.

please everyone check your doggies mouth.
