[Dailydrool] Muzzling at the vet's

I always tell vets and groomers that I have no problem with their putting a muzzle on my hounds. Better that everyone is safe. And there have been plenty of times that I've been glad I told them that. Muzzles aren't a sure cure, since one of my vet's techs told met dogs can still get you, even with a muzzle, but anything that keeps people safe is worth trying.

Last week I took Dexter in because he had diarrhea. Of course, I didn't manage to get a sample, so the vet had to use a big Q-tip to get one. I had told them they didn't need to muzzle my mushy boy, but when that thing went in, it was a big surprise to him. I still don't think he would have bitten, but it was a good thing he had the muzzle, just in case. I like the people at my vet's, and I know how much a bit can hurt, so better the muzzle than the pain.

Those people who refuse to have their dog suffer an indignity for a few minutes in order to keep people safe are pretty clueless. How'd they feel if they were on the other side of the examining table?
