Well, this roller coaster of treatment is sure not fun, but she's doing
much better this week. She did not need to be hospitalized, but got some
more IV fluids and is now happily eating everything in front of her. But I
worry because when she doesn't feel 100% she's a glue baby - following us
everywhere and not wanting to be alone. She didn't want to walk with the
others this morning so she and I stayed home. Last night she and Guinness
(the 4 month old) got into it over a treat. He still has lots of puppy
teeth and she has very few teeth left - so it was a "fair" fight. So if
feisty is a good sign - she's feisty.

In a non-basset related area, we have a friend interested in getting a long
haired dachshund puppy. I've pointed her to rescue sites with strict
instructions on how to avoid puppy mills. I know that there are many
droolers that have both breeds. If anyone can contact me off list with
suggested breeders in the southeast, I'd appreciate it.
