Fellow Bassets and their Slaves,

All this talk about dog food being badly processed in China made me make my "Mom" today check each and every bag and package of food and treats for where they are from. Thank goodness, everything is made/processed in the good ol' USA, including my favorite Milk Bone Gravy Biscuits. Don't know what I'd do without them. We thank you all for the alerts about food...Mon is being extra specially careful about what she buys for me...and, dare I say, my cat, Sebastian.

Also, kudos to Clara for staying close to home after the fence blow away. If that were me, I'd probably be miles down the road following my nose, as I always do. Once I got literally out of hand--Mom let go of my Flex-Lead when I espied my favorite adopted kids down the block so I could say "Howl-low!" to them. I sped right past them into the woods, where I found the remains of a rabbit. The kids chased after me 'cause Mom has a trick knee and can't run as fast as I can and they brought me home, the bones in my mouth. Mom was pretty squeamish--and screamish--about taking it away from me, but I didn't see the big deal. After all, aren't rabbits what we Basset's are really all about?

Anyway, I just wanted to check in and let you know things are okay here in PA. Mom reads me the DD every day and while she and I may not post comments as regularly as we should or want to, each and every one of you out there are in our throughts. We send sloppy snooter kisses and lots of drool to those in need.

Blessings,

p.s. Mom wants to know if Sister Clara has met Mom's first "Frankie" on hte Bridge yet. He's a slim tri-color who passed four years ago at the tender age of 16.5 from cancer. Mo says she knows he's up there waiting, but we just wanted to make sure. Woof!
