[Dailydrool] The lovely Bertha

I have to brag a bit (small brag) on one of my elder girls.  I had
entered Bertha (age 11-1/2) at the Greater Minneapolis St. Paul Basset
Hound club specialties, mainly because I didn't have anyone else to take
and I always like the elders best anyway.  I figured I would consider
it a big win if she just managed to toddle around the ring - She's not
been real active these last few year.  Lo and behold!  She took
first in Veteran Bitches AND best in Senior Sweeps and there were some
very fine hounds there..  Yippee for Bertha.  She didn't seem
too bothered by the nasty heat - when it got hot the spouse rubbed an ice
cube on her tummy and there was a nice breeze.
