[Dailydrool] Blue Stuff for ears

I was wondering I am wantingto make some of the stuff for dog ears made with gentian violet and alcohol and I was wondering if the dogs shake their heads does the gentian violet stain? Do I need to make sure they are outside when I clean their ears? How do you that use the Blue stuff do it with your Bassets?
