I almost had a heart attack this morning. Gave Ben some of his warmed raw
diet with some beef broth(to get him to drink a bit more), and added about 6
pieces of dry kibble. Well, he ate most of the stuff and left the kibble.
So I put his cottage cheese on the left over kibble and he ate it. Now the
thing that surprised me was then I put a few more pieces of kibble in the
bowl and he ate it. I then gave him another small hand full of just the
kibble(the stuff he turned his nose up to for weeks), and he ate all of it. He
has not eaten kibble for some time now. Tried just kibble for dinner, and
it was a no go. So I fed him his patty warmed in beef broth, and then put a
few pieces in his cottage, which he ate. I then gave him a small handful,
and he ate it right down. He may be treating the kibble as desert. Did the
same thing for both meals today and he is eating the kibble. I do not
know why he will do it this way, but what the heck, if he will eat it, fine.
I also think he is training me with the beef broth thing. I have no idea
how much he should be drinking, but felt he should be drinking more, so I
have been adding lo sodium beef broth to his beef patty, and also flavoring
his drinking water. He likes it that way.
