I am sorry this is coming thru to you as a forward e-mail but I felt so strongly about this I wanted to try and help this rescue group.
Here we are once agin, so many seniors looking for homes, for help thru the golden years. Shame shame on the so called people that dump them but to have a rescue step up and help is the flipside. I so applaud Leslie for helping. 
It is Mothers Day--last night hubby said lets go get a bite of dinner-I said no, lets help these seniors-I can cook.
It felt so right, Elder Clara I am sure has a smile on her snooter, You know how she feels about helping seniors--
So look, please help and do what you can, and if you have a empty dog bed-I bet a senior would sure appreciate a home to rest the passing days in--
Do something to make this Mothers Day special--donate to help a senior. Even if it is just a few dollars, it will help.

Looziana Basset Rescue's Old Dog Fund


Looziana Basset Rescue is awash in senior hounds.  Three of these hounds are permanent fosters.  They are Nana, Sherry and Rosie.  We luckily just adopted out Lexie and Lucie, two more seniors, but had them in rescue with various medical expenses for almost a year.  We also currently have Susie, Beaux, Daisy, Huey, Buddy, Chloe, Ellie and Amelia.  We are taking in Baxter and Satchmo this weekend.  All 13 of these hounds are at least 8 years old.  We have never had so many seniors in rescue at one time....but I've had no choice but to take them in.  Three of the 13 were "returns" after living with their adoptive families for at least 7 years.

I am hoping to find homes for as many of these hounds as possible, but I know that I may never rehome some, and I also know that seniors have more medical issues than younger dogs.  Several of these bassets are in boarding, which we are paying for.  We also have two going through heartworm treatment, Buddy and Ellie, which is very expensive.

Please consider giving at least $20 to Looziana Basset Rescue's Old Dog Fund. Our goal for this special fund is $3,500.  If a lot of people participate in this fund drive, it will go a long way in helping to care for these tossed out and forgotten souls.  Please "share" this fundraising request.
