Today was catch up on the drools day...wow I can't believe how far I had gotten behind...and all of the sadness that I was having to catch up on...so it is with a very heavy heart the Colt, Ruger and I send out heart felt condolences to all whose beloved fur kids have made their journey to the bridge...so many the last few weeks.  Debbie & Wayne, and the hounds heart healing drool to you; Sister Daisy was such a huge personality here on the daily drool and she will be missed by so many people. But I have a sneaking suspecion that she will be recuited by Elder Clara to assist her and Bug at the gate. Love and drool to everyone else too whose babies have made that journey.  May they all live forever in the magic of your memories. 

Healing Chicken Jerky drool to all of those hounds that are sick or injured. We hope that everyone recovers soon. Nigel, we hope that you are back home soon, racing around the house keeping the others in line. 

As for the question about best basset weather...well the boyz like most hounds are fair weather hounds.  Since we live in the Florida panhandle they love the spring, fall and most of the winter, when there is a crispness to the air, the humidity is low, sun is shining and the temps are below 87, but not below freezing. There is a spring in their steps and a puppy playfulness that emerges.   This is the time of year that they can go walk about the neighborhood and meet and greet all of their adouring fans without threat of heat stroking.  They hate late June/July and August becuase it is so hot and humid, that even just going out of the ac for a quick potty break makes their tongues hang down to their crooked little knees. Even in the late evening and night time the heat....mostly the humidity is just to much for the indoor, sucking up the air condition, couch potatoes. But the spring/fall and most of winter is prime basset time here...which is also prime terrorist squirrel activity, which we all know that the Bad A** Basset Brothers are obscessed with the chase, capture and killing of terrorist squirrels.  I have lost count to how many squirrels they have sent to met their makers. They aren't to keen on the ferel cats around here either but luckily so far all the cats either stay out of the back yard or get the heck out of dodge when they here the thundering herd of two coming their way.
