Renee,
We lost our beautiful gal Tess to lung cancer when she was just a month shy of 15.  If I am remembering correctly (it was in 2007 I think), the vet drained the fluid and placed her on prednisone.  We (Ron, me and the vet) agreed that when she started having trouble breathing again, we would let her go.  I think she had about a month before she was in distress.  What has your vet done?
Karen

Our Ruby Reds will be 14 on November 15th. It isn't likely she will see this birthday.? Her breathing got labored a few days ago and I took her to the vet yesterday only to find out that she has a large mass in one of her lungs.? Of course it is cancer.? She has lost some weight but continues to eat.? The vet said she could live a few weeks or more.? She is depending on the good lung to get her thru.? Of course my vet will be away next week so we are crossing our fingers that Ruby will be ok at least until she returns.? I really don't want? to deal with a strange vet.? If anyone is familiar with lung cancer in a dog,? please let me know what Ican do if anything.? She is on one dog aspirin a day.? The vet said she has no pain just stronger breathing pattern.? I do not want her to suffer and will send her to the bridge if she gets into too much distress.? Please send some drool her way.

Thanks Renee
