Hi all, it's the clueless momPerson here,
My Gracie had her share of adventures yesterday as well. We, too, were
concerned she would not survive them, but that was because we were worried
someone might get mad enough to kick her butt. It's a good thing she's so cute
is all I can say. We are very glad the other Gracie survived her adventures too
.... and also that her momPerson didn't have a heart attack either. I think we
are both prime candidates if this behavior continues!
Whew!! Yesterday was Yom Kippur. Everyone at my house was fasting from Sundown
the night before, no food OR water so by mid day we're going on 20 hours and
getting pretty darned grumpy. We all got dressed up and went to services in the
morning. Gracie doesn't like it when we get dressed up. It means we are going
to leave the house. So ...... she pee'd on the rug. ARG! My daughter is
starting to call her pee as a weapon girl. I honestly think it's more a case of
nerves than Gracie being vengeful, but, what can I say. So I cleaned up the rug
and we left for services and came home in the afternoon ...
OMG!!! What can I say? First of all she got into my laundry basket and
scattered what WERE clean clothes all over the living room. She found a bag of
halloween decorations and scattered those too, in amounst the clean clothes.
Well, I was picking all of that up when my elder daughter SCREAMED. Here is
what we *think* happened ....
1) Snoopy goes in Juliannes room all the time. He usually hunts through her
backpack looking for food. Well, she had tossed her backpack onto her bed and
he often sleeps on her bed so he likely climbed up there and was rooting through
her backpack. there were several food wrappers in there. The backpack wound up
on the floor.
2) Gracie joined in the fun because Snoopy was rooting around in there and she
likes paper. a LOT
3) Gracie got a little to excited and chewed up Juliannes Spanish 2 notebook.
Yup, you read that write. Not just one assignment. The whole spiral notebook.
ALL of her assignments and class notes for the first 6 weeks of the school
year. Gone. Well, not gone exactly, Gracie scattered the shredded paper up and
down the hallway.
Now, this is the not the first time something like this has happened to
Julianne. She had an assignment up in the teachers lounge in gradeschool for
months. That morning she had finished her homework on the counter and her
sister spilled her fathers coffee all over it. So, her father helpfully put it
in the microwave to dry it out but that isn't a good idea it turns out because
notebook paper will spark and it caught fire. So I wrote a note and attached it
to the coffee stained, singed homework which read, and I quote, "Please excuse
Juliannes homework. Her sister spilled coffee on it and then her father
accidently set fire to it while trying to dry it out." Julianne turned it in
with all the other kids and I guess when the teacher got to that one she just
let out a yell. Anyway, this time it wasn't nearly so funny.
And then, to round out the day late in the evening I was in a lounger out back
and Gracie was laying beside me and Snoopy came up on the other side and Gracie
snarled and told him to get away from me. He tried ignoring her and she went
after him. I just got out of the way and he flattened her .....stood on her
screaming his fool head off. Well I pulled him off of course (no injuries,
these dogs don't bite thank Dog) and told her she'd pulled just about enough
stunts today and I let Snoopy go and she turned to him and snarled again .....
so he flattened her again and I had to pull him off again and it took a little
while before they would all lay down nicely together. Finally LuLu told them
both that the next false move was getting a good konking ..... and we had no
more trouble.
More later from the clueless momPerson with Gracie (who hasn't peed where she
shouldn't nor chewed anything up today .... yet) and LuLu (who finds being in
charge a full time job) and Snoopy too (I just can't believe the nerve of this
little girl basset, I really just can't)
