[Dailydrool] The Dreaded "Back Issues"

Gracie hurt her back somehow when I was away on business.  Some of you may remember me posting about it.  She was hiding in her fort and acting odd.  When I came home I saw it immediately and took her to the vet first thing in the morning.  She was also shaking and had one foot which didn't "correct"   Also the xrays showed about like yours.  The vet put her on Rimadyl.  She offered tramadol but I had some already at home and anyway Gracie does not tolerate Tramadol well.  I gave her some the first day and maybe the second.  Gracie made a full recovery and has been back to being a little dickens for some time now.  Now, we believe several things helped Gracie:

1)  We have a ramp at the dog door .... NO steps.  You can buy one and put it over your steps, you can build one for almost no cost, you can figure something out I am sure so please make Philby a ramp, for now and for later

2)  Gracie is on a supliment (triple max) ..... I'm sure the one your vet recommeded is also excellent

3)  We basically tied our little dickens down because after day 2 she wanted to leap all over the countryside and the vet said FIVE days no play ..... by day 4 the four two leggers in our house were sitting on Gracie but we held her down until day 5 when ....... she was back to bouncing off of the walls

We basically pampered little Gracie and lifted her up and lifted her down and took her out on lead (out front) as much as possible so she wouldn't try to romp and play (little dickens).  She hasn't been on Rimadyl for months.  She seems fine.  We wish the same outcome for Philby.

Best,
Dale
