I dropped JP off at 8 am. He really didn't want to go into the building after last week's spending 9-5 there waiting for the specialist to do his ultrasound. What was the hardest for me was knowing how thirsty he was, since water bowls came up last night. Good thing he is not like some of the others who try to drink from the toilet, lol.
Just so you know, I am drinking early today, the wine bottle is already open, and if I didn't have a weight watcher's meeting tomorrow, I would probably go for two bottles. It is 99 % confirmed JP is doing an overnight, and I told his Vet that I would actually prefer that for him rather than he come home groggy and in surgical pain only to be gang greeted by the herd who will poke and sniff him to upmost annoyance.
I packed a little overnight bag for the boy with food and medicine and a blanket that smells like home. The tote I sent with him is a lovely quilted one from Bessie's Boutique which was a gift to me, and the purchase was in support of Wendie's and Pat's Sr. hounds abound.
I attached a luggage tag to it, which is so cute, looks like Nikki and Pierre jr., which i think I got from ABC, and have had it for years, but this is the first time using it.
I really wanted to cry when I left him. When I was trying to get him into the office, another sad faced woman was exiting, and we chatted a bit. I was happy that I was able to make her feel a little better because she had her 2 yr. old boxer there for a growth removal which was already called a mast cell tumor. I was able to share with her my story of Pumpkin who has gone through that and is THRIVING at 12 1/2, and her growth was removed over 5 years ago.
On the happy note, today is Jr's 4th birthday. We have been singing good songs to him all morning, and my sister shared her egg breakfast with him, and all the hounds as it were. Around here, making breakfast for one is about 6 or more eggs at a time, share factor included.
Pierre jr. wants me to buy some tickets in the February frenzie for his birthday. Must obey the boy, and this will be his birthday gift. Not only a chance for some great prizes, but helping hounds is what we live for.
Healing drool to all in need.
Jackie (maybe I will skip the meeting tomorrow and get stupid drunk) and the hounds who have Auntie Donna here so all their needs will be taken care of, and we all miss Jean Paul
Happy Birthday Jr., you are entitled to a do over, but we are trying to make this day a little special for you.
