The only 100% sure fire way to make sure your Dog's food is safe is to make it yourself. One of our dogs got sick on kibble so I started cooking for everyone. Cooking is expensive for multiple large breed dogs. We adopted a Bloodhound that couldn't eat anything but raw or he got very sick. Took us 3 months, lots of vet test/money and lots of support from his foster mom, who feeds raw, to figure that one out. So after feeding him raw for 6 months we bought a grinder and switched everyone over to a raw diet. It's been 9 months and they are doing great. 
Cooked and/or raw diets aren't for everyone but it works for us and i have total control. I also make all their treats.
