Pawtunia,

Murphy was a Texas basset, born and bred (although he did have to live in KY for a few years...) so I know the BBQ would have been just what he was waiting for!

I brought his ashes home yesterday in the longest, heaviest wooden box I have ever seen from a crematorium.  My Dad called him "Stretch Limo" due to his length, and he was 72 pounds of big old basset so the box was fitting.

Thank you to everyone who expressed their condolences...our house is so quiet.  Monday my little boy Nicholas (the one with the middle name Russell after Rusty Paws) and I are going to see "Limo", a 6 yr old boy rescued from a puppymill in December.  He's a long red and white with lace ears and a very sweet face....Nicholas wrote me a heartwrenching letter about how I had Rusty Paws, and the other kids had their favorite dogs and Murphy had been his and how sad he is now.  He needs a basset!
