[Dailydrool] Checking in

Momma of the Bad A$$ Basset Brothers checking in. It has been a long 2 weeks as I was working mainly night shift for a big military exercise running all of the real world medical support and creating simulated combat wounded warriors for the exercise.  Colt and Ruger were not at all happy with the change to their schedules...which tanks to Auntie Val the only change was with their momma time.  Meals, outside time and potty breaks were all kept on schedule thanks to Auntie Val. I have one more month of military reserve time and then I will be done for this fiscal year with that. Colt does not like when I put on the AF uniform becuause he knows that I am usually gone for the day when I put it on. Ruger doesn't seem to care much as long as he gets his treat before I leave. Somedays it seems like he is pushing me out the door and saying "would you please leave already...and don't forget the good bye cookie!"  Other than Colt pouting, the brothers are doing very good. the weather has been on the cool side the last few days and they have really been enjoying that, with some extra basset 500's and lots of gator mouthing and just wanting to be outside hanging out to enjoy the day.  Sometimes I can almost see them sipping on a margarita, or a corona, laying under the tree and saying to one another "I wander what the poor folk are doing?"  Next month we will be packing up and preparing for the big move up to Howling Hound Acres in southern Indiana. I hope that it won't be to stressful on the boyz.  Colt gets his snooter out of whack when he sees us packing for a short trip.  I don't know how he will react when his whole house starts to get packed up.  Might have to share a little bit of my wine with him...just kidding...but a doggie downer might be in order for him, just to take the edge off. 

Heart healing drool to all of those whose furbabies have traveled to the bridge.  May they live forever in your memories. 
Healing drool to all the ailing hounds and humans...prepare for a drool tidal wave, because I will be making chicken jerky tonight.
