And, speaking of Basset crap/craft, don't forget the idea of our all rescue Basset craft fair on Houndsbay the last week of November and first week of December. Anyone who has made or squirreled away (oops, sorry, Colt and Ruger) a Basset hound item is encouraged to put it up for auction at that time with the proceeds going to the rescue of the lister's choice. If there is anyone in the world as computer challenged as I, then I encourage you to send the item directly to the rescue of your choice and encourage them to list it.

I am halfway done with a double bed size quilt for Basset Rescue of Montana, and had hoped to knock out a second quilt too---and---I broke both of my sewing machines today. They are to be sent off island for repairs and won't reappear for a couple of weeks.

SO--I plan to list maybe an even better item (actually, plan to send it to Chris Bly to list for WMBRI). Nine already sewn large quilt blocks featuring bassets from at least a half dozen different fabrics, cleverly combined in window pane combinations. I have used nine similar blocks in the half finished Montana quilt. so you could make one human quilt, or two dog bed quilts, or four carry alls, or nine placemats, or goodness knows how many hotpads--more than a doozen. this is a seamstress' dream. I've collected these fabrics for years and Doug Dropp and Daria Emma added more from their stashes. So, watch for it.

and which rescue would like for me to send them an adorable Basset bird house (not the one Bev posted?) Write me with your address. Aloha all, Val
